The Big Play Date

We're inviting you to celebrate World Play Day with the Karori Toy Library!

We'll have all of our best toys out waiting to be played with including ride-ons and dress ups, as well as a fantastic line-up of activities and crafts to keep the whole family entertained.

Stimulate, play and educate
Karori Toy Library lends stimulating, educational and fun toys for kids aged 0–7 – and the grown ups enjoy them too! 
  • Toys suitable from birth–7 years old
  • Large catalogue of toys
  • No borrowing fees
  • Four sessions per week, including Wednesday evening and Saturday morning
  • No waiting lists – you can join today!
  • Start a membership at any time of year
  • Different membership levels are available 
  • One month casual memberships are available – perfect if you have kids visiting
About Karori Toy Library

We're committed to providing quality entertaining and educational toys for the Karori and the surrounding community.

Playing is vital for your child to learn, and their play needs will constantly change as they develop and grow.

Our wide selection of toys includes games, puzzles, dress-ups, ride-ons, musical toys, dolls houses, slides, bikes and baby gyms. Our collection also features new and old favourites such as Thomas the Tank Engine and Duplo.

Fundraising and grants enable us to purchase toys throughout the year to ensure the collection stays in a good condition.

Opening hours
  • Tuesday, 12.30–2.30pm
  • Wednesday, 7.30–9.00pm
  • Thursday, 9.30–11.30am
  • Saturday, 9.00am–12.00pm
Open during term time:
  • Term 2: 2 May – 8 Jul (closed Sat 27 May, Sat 3 Jun)
  • Term 3: 25 Jul – 28 Sep
  • Term 4: 17 Oct – tbc (closed Sat 21 Oct)

Cost
It's free to borrow toys once you're a member. Different memberships are available to suit every budget.
  • Maxi annual membership – $100
  • Mini annual membership – $80
  • Introductory six month membership – $60
  • Casual – $25 per month (perfect if you have children visiting)

Discounts are available with a Community Services Card (CSC).

We're a not-for-profit community organisation and we rely on your support!
