Our Librarians
Our experienced toy librarians have a wealth of knowledge. If you have any questions or suggestions about what toys to borrow or anything to do with the the toy library, ask a librarian next time you're in the Toy Library or email us at info@karoritoylibrary.org.nz
Our Committee
The Karori Toy Library is managed by a Committee of volunteers who manage the finances, apply for grant funding, employ our librarians, maintain toys and do all the other work needed to keep the Toy Library running. The Committee meets every six weeks during term time. The Annual General Meeting is open to all members. AGM details and dates are announced by email and on our Facebook page.

Current vacancies
We are always on the look out for Committee members, including key governance roles such as co-ordinator, treasurer and secretary. We also welcome help with buying and fixing toys, fundraising, social media, and events. No formal experience is needed to be on the Committee - you can share your existing skills, or we can train you up in an area you'd like to gain experience in.

Our funders
Grant funding allows us to maintain a quality collection of toys and a range of opening sessions, while keeping membership fees affordable for members. We therefore acknowledge and sincerely thank the following organizations for their support:
St Johns Op Shop Trust for their ongoing support including $1100 in 2023 for toys, bike and scooter racks and first aid training for our librarians.
Four Winds Foundation for $3000 in 2023 and $2000 in 2024 towards our librarians' wages.
NZCT for $2617 in 2023 and $3,431.75 in 2024 towards our librarians' wages.
COGS for $1000 in 2022, 2023 and 2024 towards operating costs.
Lottery Community Grants for $567.52 in 2023 towards our rent.
Thomas George McCarthy Trust for $250 in 2023 and 2024 towards operating costs.
Wellington City Council Social and Recreation Fund for $1000 in 2023 and $1000 in 2024 for operational support.
Nikau Foundation for $1600 in 2023 for the Karori Community Toy Library 30th Birthday celebration.

Terawhiti Charitable Trust for $1857 in 2022 to replace worn-out but highly popular toys.
Rotary Club of Karori for $1450 in 2022 to buy toys for older children (5-7+).
